ਮਨਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿਰਸਾ, ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੋ ਲੀਡਰ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੀ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਾਂਡ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਨੇ, ਨੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਤੀਫ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸਦਾ ਕੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਬਸ ਇਹ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਿਜੀ ਕਾਰਣਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਸਤੀਫ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ । ਇਕ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ।

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੱਥ ਮਿਲਾਉਣਾ । ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਚੀਮੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਅਧੀਨ ਆ ਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । ਸਿਰਸਾ ਜੋ ਬਾਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਅੱਜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ।

ਇੱਦਾਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿਰਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਵੇ 2022 ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵੇਲੇ । ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ । ਹਾਂ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂਤਵ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਇੰਝ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਹਿੰਦੂਤਵ ਦਾ ਏਜੰਡਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ । ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵੀ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ । ਵੈਸੇ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇੱਦਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਕੀ ਪਤਾ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਉਪ-ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪੱਤਾ ਖੇਡੇ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ।

ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੇਕਰ 1966 ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਦਿੱਖ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਾਂ ਬੀਬੀ ਹੀ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ । ਚਾਹੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਦਿਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤੇ ਬਿਠਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । ਹੁਣ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇਹ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਵੇ, ਵੈਸੇ ਆਸਾਰ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਨੇ, ਪਰ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੀ ਦੱਸੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।

ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ । ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਕੋਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਵੀ ਨਾ, ਤਾਈਂਓਂ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ? ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਣ ਸਾਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਏਡੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਕੁਰਸੀ ਤੇ ਬਿਠਾਉਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ । ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇਹ ਔਖਿਆਈ ਵੀ ਸੌਖੀ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ । ਸਿਰਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਨੇ । ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਏ ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਆਗੂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ । ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਕੋਲ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੋਣਾ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਤੇ । ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਕਾਰਣ ਜੋ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਹੁਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਉਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਗਲੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਂਹ ਕਰਨਾ । ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ, ਫਿਰ ਆਇਆ ਕਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ? ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕੇਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ, ਕੁਝ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਲਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ।

ਹੋਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੱਥ ਮਿਲਾਉਣਾ । ਪਰ ਕੀ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਹੱਥ ਮਿਲਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਦੇਖ ਲਵੇਗਾ? ਯਾ ਫਿਰ ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ? ਇਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੀ ਦੱਸੇਗਾ । ਇਥੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਦੀ ਘੜੀ ਹੈ, ਕੀ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਬੀ.ਜੇ.ਪੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਮ ਮੰਦਰ ਪਿਛੇ ਲੱਗ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਣਗੇ ।

Farm laws, Modi, and the politics

Three contentious laws will be repealed in the next parliament session. This might be the first retreat by the Modi Government. The farmers have been protesting against the laws for a year. Over the months, the close allies of the ruling party BJP, directly and indirectly, have stated the role of the ‘India-breaking forces’ behind the protests; the women were named to take the money for the sit-in protests; farmers were called terrorists. The Khalistani word became more popular with the protests, as the religion of the farmers, who mostly were from Punjab and Sikhs, were dragged in. And it’s become the habit of many right-wing groups to associate the demands of any turbaned guys with the Khalistan.

The Agriculture Minister of India had asked more than 15,000 agriculture graduates to create awareness and benefits of the laws last year. Numerous meetings had been held over the year between the protesting farmers and the ministers of the government. The laws were also decided to be put on hold by the government, but that tactic didn’t work out with the farmers as they outrightly rejected the offer. Now, this looks very bizarre as the Agriculture Minister of India welcomes the decision of repealing the farm laws. It should also be noted that his tone of calling the thousands of farmers as ‘some farmers’ remain the same.

We have also seen the English celebrity tweeting in favour of the protests, and the united team of the actors and the sportsmen detesting that openly, calling it, directly and indirectly, the internal matters of India. And one cannot forget the comments of Kangana Ranaut throughout the farmers’ protests. I believe her first revelation of supporting the Hindutva might be during her interaction with Sadhguru before the release of her movie Manikarnika. But that was what some people call the soft-Hindutva, which, according to few, what Mahanta Gandhi advocated.

Anyways, what made the Modi Government to repeal the farm laws?

It wasn’t the protests.

It wasn’t the death of seven hundred farmers in the protests.

It wasn’t the bitter cold nights the farmers spent, the heat of the month of June-July they endured, or the rain-drenched tents or the floor they slept on.

It wasn’t the pain of the farmers that Modi felt.

It was the defeat in the by-elections. This shook the party and its members. The prices of petrol and diesel came down, which were shooting the sky every day. Upcoming elections in 2022 in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, etc., are also the factor for them to concede to the demands of the farmers.

Things got interesting here as the ex-CM of Punjab had said he would be ready to shake hands with the BJP, but not before resolving the issues of farmers. His frequent mentioning of Pakistan and national security made him a potential candidate for the BJP. Amarinder Singh has raised the issues during the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor too, when millions of Sikhs were clasping their hands to thank Waheguru. We also saw the detestable remarks made by the then DGP of Punjab, Dinkar Gupta.

BJP hasn’t given the CM face of Punjab for the upcoming 2022 assembly elections. Who knows after the repealing of the farm bills, they will share the seats, and Amarinder Singh will be the CM face as he had started his own political party – Punjab Lok Congress.

With the declaration of repealing the laws in the next parliament session, people have expressed the possibility of taking back the decisions of Article 370 and CAA – two of the most contentious laws. One thing has proven here: if people stand together, even the hardliners will bow down to them. This shows the power of people. This is how the democracy should be, where the governments are run by the people, not the other way around.

After the announcement of repealing the laws by the Prime Minister of India, the farmers exuberated their long struggle and welcome the decision by the government. Although, they want to stand together till the next parliament session; words aren’t enough. Secondly, they want a law for MSP. This might be the starting of a bigger problem for the Modi Government as the Agriculture Minister had said earlier it’s not feasible. It will cost $228bn if MSP is guaranteed on every crop.

The government might’ve thought the repealing of the laws would be enough to lure the farmers for the next elections. But the farmers were clear since the beginning what their demands were.

Casteism in Punjab politics

I have felt proud throughout my life that Punjab is the region where caste has no role to play in politics. Maybe I was naïve or wasn’t aware of the deep-rooted social structure based on discrimination in the minds of the people of Punjab. The recent conundrum in the Punjab Congress proved it right.

For decades the politics in India is driven by the caste and religion. Although the country is secular constitutionally, but the people selected by the countrymen are not. And they try to prove how much they are related to the religion and the caste they were born into. The fact is you can’t run a political party in India without being associated with the culture or religion of the land or sub-land. These two are the major factors when it comes to the grouping of people. People who are so emotionally connected to these can be fooled easily by the rulers. I have seen some people suggesting they chose BJP not because of development but the Hindutva ideology. And they don’t even care much about BJP, if there is another political party who’s going to talk Hindutva, they will choose that in power.

Congress and AAP, the so-called secular parties, have shown their leaning towards the religious people or their beliefs. To win elections, they all do any sort of tricks. Rahul Gandhi has called himself a janeu-dhari. Arvind Kejriwal has said to make Uttarakhand the global spiritual capital for the Hindus, if voted to power. BJP is not the sole flag-bearer of the Hindutva now. There are other players in the game.

Leaving the non-Punjabi political parties and people alone, my heart aches as I write the similar situation arising in Punjab, when the Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, resigned from the post, and Charanjit Singh Channi swore as the next CM of Punjab. The Punjab elections are nearing in the early 2022. The move of Captain was either stupid, or there was already a big planning to have some other candidate to lure the voters for the next assembly elections.

Charanjit Singh Channi became the CM later but dalit first. His background and his political career weren’t discussed by the people. He was the first dalit CM, that was the news. The so-called dalit caste is elated to see a CM from their own caste. This is true that a person believes that his own religion/caste member should be in power or should have certain powers to make their lives better. Collectively, Sikhs believe the same, and a just society will be there if a Sikh is at the top or has enough power to make decisions. What has been done so far is given a Sikh-looking person to the masses of Punjab, by all the political parties. What they haven’t given us is a proper Sikh, who lives his life based on the principles of the Sikh Gurus. Those Sikhs will definitely be a changing factor for the society.

If I look back after the Kharku Lehar, from the mid-nineties, I didn’t see a CM who is religious and make just decisions. SAD is there, but the Sikh values are going down from the top to the bottom of its members. However, it doesn’t mean we have to discard them, because this has been discussed and talked about for years. SAD is the party of martyrs. We can replace its top members; we can’t dismantle its base.

Anyways, from SAD too we didn’t see much progress on the extrajudicial killings of the Sikh youth back in 1980s and 1990s. And their handshake with the BJP shouldn’t be forgotten either. Now they have broken their ties over the farmer issues related to the laws.

Some suggest SAD is filled with Jats, so it’s new and fresh to see a non-Jat face as the CM. The fact of the matter is Jats aren’t superior, neither dalits are inferior. This line has created enmity between the people. Politicians have used this in the Hindi belt for decades. If we are stuck in this cycle, we will never come out of it, and we will be played out by the politicians. We are Punjabis. The politicians running the state should be Punjabi. That’s it.

With the resignation of Captain, some assumed the Congress would have a Hindu as a CM. Sunil Jakhar’s name was on top. With Charanjit Singh Channi as the CM, some Hindu hardliners took to social media about how the Hindu wasn’t chosen by the Congress.

Words are that Amarinder wanted to create his own party, when asked in 2015. So, this feud might have given the way as the Congressmen believed him to be independent minded. Although, the reasons given by the ex-CM were that he was humiliated because the MLAs were called to Delhi twice and called CLP in Chandigarh.

We Sikhs have to step cautiously. This shouldn’t divide the Sikhs on the lines of so-called caste; there is no caste in Sikhi. If people who call themselves Sikhs and practise Sikhi have the caste-mindset, they shouldn’t impose their views on the Sikh Panth.

ਅਫ਼ਗ਼ਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ

ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਦਾ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ । ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਰੁਕਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਿਆ । ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇਹ ਸਹੀ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਤਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਇਕ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵੇ । ਹਰ ਇਕ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਅਲੱਗ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਦਾ ।

20 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਹਾਰ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ । 20 ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੌਜੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਸਮਝ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਾਇਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ । ਕਈ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਵੀਅਤਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਵੀਅਤਨਾਮ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਕਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਨੇ । ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਬਦਲਦੀਆਂ ਰਹੀਆਂ । ਕਿਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਣਿਆਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ । ਫਿਰ ਇਹ ਇਕ ਲੜਾਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ । ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੋਹਾ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਉੱਭਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ।

ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਫੇਸਬੁਕ ਪੰਨਿਆਂ (pages) ਉੱਤੇ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਅਫ਼ਗ਼ਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਹੁਣ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ – ਸੋਵੀਅਤ ਸੰਘ (ਜੋ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ ਟੁੱਟ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ) ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ – ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਰਾ ਸਕੀਆਂ । ਉਹ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਮਾਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਨੇ, ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਵੀ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ । ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਕਈ ਪੁਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਪਰਿਸਥਿਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਤਰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ । ਜਿਥੇ-ਕਿਤੇ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਥਿਆਰਬੰਦ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ । ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿੱਕਲਣਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ । ਇਥੇ ਇਹ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ 2001 ਦੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਥੇ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਇਕ ਕੱਟੜਵਾਦੀ-ਸੋਚ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ ।

ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਕੁ ਵੀਡੀਉ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਕ ਕਾਬੁਲ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਤੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ । ਕੁਝ ਤਾਂ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਮਕਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਉੱਡਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਏ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੈਅ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਕਈ ਫੁੱਟ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਠ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ । ਇਹ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ । ਇੰਝ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਦਿਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਸੋਚੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਹਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡੇ ਤੇ ਹੰਢਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ।

ਕਿਥੇ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਸੀ, ਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਡਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ । ਕਈ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕਈ ਕੱਟੜ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ‘ਜੈ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ’ ਦੇ ਨਾਅਰੇ ਲਗਵਾਉਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਨੇ । ਇੱਦਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ । ਇਹ ਆਮ ਹੀ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਭਾਸਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਸਦੀ ਹੈ । ਕਿਤੇ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੋਕ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਣ । ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ‘ਜੈ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ’ ਦੇ ਜਬਰੀ ਨਾਅਰੇ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ । ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ, ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਇਹ ਉਪਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹੋ ਜੇ ਕੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਆਏ ਨੇ ।

ਇਹ ਇਕ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਮਾਂ ਕਰਵਟ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ-ਕੋਈ ਹੀ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ । ਸਮਾਂ ਬਦਲਣ ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਛਤਾਵਾ ਹੀ ਹੱਥ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਲਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।

ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ 1970 ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ, ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਮਸਾਂ 700 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਹੈ । ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ 1990 ਤੱਕ 63 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 10, ਕਈਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ । ਕਿਹੋ ਜੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਨੇ । ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਇਕ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ । ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਏ ਸਨ 1990 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ।

ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਸਬੂਤ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਨੇ । ਜੇਕਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇ ਉਥੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਕੌਣ ਸੰਭਲੇਗਾ । ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰ ਕੋਈ ‘ਬੁੱਧੀਜੀਵੀ’ ਉਠੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਕਹੇਗਾ ਇਥੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਫਿਰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਇਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਸੀ । ਇਹ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ।

ਮੈਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਰਾਜ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਜਿਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਆਏ ਨੇ । ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਜਾਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੁਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲਸੇ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਅ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ । ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਕ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਅਸੂਲ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਥੋਪਣੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਹੀ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ੇਲ੍ਹ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਨੇ ।

ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨ

 

ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਰਚੇ ਰਹੇ । ਕੋਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 18 ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਘਟ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 18 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮਨ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਕੋਈ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਧਰਮ ਅਪਣਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ । ਕੁਝ ਅਗਾਂਹਵਧੂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮਰਦ-ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਰਤਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ । ਕੋਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੜਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਬਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਸ ਲੜਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜ ਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ।

ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਆਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਯੁਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ । ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਬੂਲਦੇ ਸਨ । ਇਕ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਲੜਕਾ-ਲੜਕੀ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਰਮ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਹ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਤ ਲੋਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ (grooming) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਯੂ-ਟਿਊਬ ਚੈੱਨਲ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ।

ਕਿਥੇ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹਾਂ ਆਪਾਂ ?

ਕਿਥੇ ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ?

ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਮਾਪੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ । ਜੇਕਰ ਮਾਪੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਜਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਜਿਉਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਤਾਂ ਇਸਦੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ । ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਹੀ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਤੇ ਰੋਕ ਲਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ (grounded) ਜੇ ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹਰਕਤ ਕਰਨ । ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੰਗਤ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਝੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਫਿਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਕੋਈ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਪਾਸੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਪਛਤਾਵਾ ਪੱਲੇ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।

ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਕਸੂਰ ਹੈ । ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਮਸ਼ੀਨੀ ਯੁਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਜ਼ੰਜੀਰ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਨੇ । ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਧਰਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਸਭਿਅਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਅਸਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਕ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਛੋਟੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੇ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਵੇ ਪਰ ਈਸਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ (Christmas), ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਨਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ ।

ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਜੁੜਨ । ਇਹ ਖੇਡ ਹੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕਿ ਪੁੱਠੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਜਲਦੀ ਖਿੱਚੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ । ਜੋ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ । ਜਪੁ ਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ 20 ਮਿੰਟ ਵੀ ਆਪਾਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਉਬਾਸੀ ਲਿੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ, ਇੰਨੇ ਆਪਾਂ ਧਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ । ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅਖੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤਾ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਕਥਾ ਵੀ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਬਾਹਰਲੇ ਮੁਲਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ।

ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਇੰਨਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪਾਂ ਇਕ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਰਦ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ । ਇਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ਼ੀ ਹੀ ਕਹੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ । ਜਿਸਦੇ ਦਿਖਾਏ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਲਣਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਹੀ ਛਡਾ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਭੱਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ । ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਜੇ ਆਪਾਂ ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹੀਏ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਚੱਲੇਗਾ, ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਆਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕੀ ਗਏ ਹਨ । ਸਿੱਖੀ ਹੈ ਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਆਪਾਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਨਿਭਾਅ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ।

ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਰ ਕਹਿ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਹਾਂ । ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖ-ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਰੀਤ ਹੈ । ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਦੋ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਰ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ । ਇਕ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਦੋ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਸਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਦੋਨਾਂ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਾਂ । ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੋ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਵਖਰੇਵੇਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ । ਹਾਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਪਰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੋ ।

ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਕਰਨ ਕਿ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚਰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਉਣਾ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ । ਜੇਕਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਕ ਹੱਜ, ਜਨੇਊਧਾਰੀ, ਜਾਂ ਈਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਲ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਜਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਲਵੋ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਖ਼ਿਆਲਾ ਵਾਲਾ (liberal) ਮੰਨਦੇ ਨੇ ਚਾਹੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ, ਸਿਆਸਤਦਾਨ, ਕਾਮਰੇਡ, ਜਾਂ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਤੇ ਆਪਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਮਲਦੇ ।
